Vigo se corona como «la ciudad de España con más banderas azules» en 2026
El alcalde, Abel Caballero, destacó que la ciudad olívica se mantiene como el municipio español con mayor número de estas distinciones, repartidas por todo su litoral: desde la emblemática playa de Rodas, en las Islas Cíes, hasta los arenales urbanos como Samil (Argazada), O Vao o Tombo do Gato.
Además, la ciudad ha marcado un hito histórico al sumar 14 Senderos Azules, consolidándose como el referente nacional en rutas naturales sostenibles.
Este éxito medioambiental coincide con un momento de esplendor turístico para la urbe, que acaba de cerrar el mejor mes de abril de su historia.
Con una ocupación hotelera que rozó el 69%, Vigo se sitúa como el primer destino de Galicia, destacando especialmente el incremento del turismo internacional, que ya representa el 45% del total de visitantes.
